Shortly after we started our company, a good
friend of the family wanted to hire us to do a job for him. He
was having trouble with water draining away from his property.
There was a line of trees on one side of the property where
water from the area ran through like a small creek. The water
was backing up and flooding the back of his lot. So my job was
to help clear the "creek" of debris and route the water away
from the yard to the drainage ditch to the rear of the property.
Now you have to realize I have never been around construction
before or ever driven any kind of loader. So I have no idea what
I can or can not do. I definitely had no idea what the
MultiTrac can do at this point. So I went over to show-off my
new "toy" and all that it could do. I entered the wooded area an
started to remove some of the brush and wood that had gathered
in the trees by the run-off... run-off... I did say
run-off, ya that's right it had been raining for several days
before I went over and this area was totally saturated. It was
not a wooded area but a peat bog. After a couple of trips into
this area my path became more and more unstable until it no
longer held and in she went...

Try as we might we could only get it
to dig deeper into the bog. In my own defense (no pictures to
show) this was a nice trail when I first started to work in
here. There was just a little water here ... at first. Well, we
finally had to give it up and call a tow truck. I had to put up
with all the grief from these guys too for the next couple years
when I saw them around town or they came to tow one of my
trucks! Funny how things follow you around, but it made a good
business relationship. |
